What an amazing honor to be able to work with such talent. Recently, Melissa Gann, a local fine art portrait artist, and I collaborated on a project and the results are going to be magical. I just know it! You can learn a little more about her and her work below.
“I feel so lucky to paint. I don’t know how I saw anything before I painted. I didn’t take the time truly to look and I didn’t know what I saw.” – Melissa Gann.
Melissa Gann grew up in the Atlanta area. She studied piano from childhood and received a college degree in piano performance. After graduating, she spent an impromptu month in the Sonoran desert of Arizona with artist and mentor Claudia Hartley. It was there in the indescribable hues of the winter desert that she first fell in love with color and learned to paint in acrylics. After being stopped in her tracks by a painting by Scott Burdick, Melissa was inspired to learn more about painting, especially in oil. She sought out Scott Burdick and Susan Lyon for instruction, and through their generous mentoring and instruction she became an accomplished painter. Melissa continued to refine her skills, studying with such masters as Dan Gerhartz, Casey Baugh, Nancy Seamons Crookston, and Marc Chatov. She is now an award-winning artist, painting landscapes, figures, and portraits.
Melissa Gann currently lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children. There, she continues to make music and art with gratitude to God for the people and circumstances which allow her to celebrate what she sees.
Here are a few samples of her work.

For this particular session, Kylie Michelle Fuller modeled for us, so that we could capture the images needed to create a gorgeous work. This final work will be a breath-taking oil painting completed by Melissa Gann. The actual images being used for this oil painting will not be released until the project is complete, but we did receive permission to share a few other images captured during this session. We hope you enjoy the outcome of this collaboration as much as we did.
